Industrial Hygiene
Employers are required to assess and, if necessary, measure the levels of noise to which workers are exposed. We can provide assessments in order to verify compliance to current legislative requirements and we can advise on corrective actions if such actions are required. The assessment procedure consists of four basic steps.
- A detailed noise survey
- The analysis of measured data
- Comparison to the action and warning limits defined in the Regulations
- Proposals for the adoption of safety measures if required
TMS consultants can assist employers by carrying out comprehensive assessments and advising on noise and vibration management and control programmes.
Similar to noise, there are statutory requirements for the management of vibration risks and exposure action values and limit values have been prescribed in national and in EU legislation. Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) and Whole Body Vibration (WBV) assessments are undertaken where required with the objective of verifying compliance with statutory requirements and advising on control and management programmes where required.
